Colorado Springs offers all its inhabitants a beautiful outdoor world. We are proud to sit in the middle of some of the most beautiful areas Colorado has to offer: Colorado Springs, Black Forest, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Cheyenne Mountain, and many more. With all these wonderful areas surrounding Colorado Springs, it would be a shame to not get out there and explore. This post includes a map of these location!

At Ponderosa Veterinary Clinic, we treat our clients like family, and we want to ensure our furry family members can experience the incredible dog parks Colorado Springs has to offer. Many of our clients, as well as ourselves, take our dogs to dog parks as often as we can. It is a great way to get your canine out of the house and in a new, exciting, and beautiful place with a lot of smells to satisfy their sense of curiosity. A day at the dog park is also a great way to let your dog make some new friends!

1. Bear Creek Dog Park

Bear Creek Dog Park is one of the most popular dog parks in Colorado Springs. It stretches over 25-acres of land on the northern side of Bear Creek Regional Park. It offers open land, hills, forest areas, a running creek, and walking trails that your dog may want to explore. It is an off-leash dog park with water and washing areas provided in case your canine gets messier than expected. The park itself is open from dawn to dusk so make sure to check it out for all the different sky settings the area surrounding Manitou Springs has to offer.

2. Rampart Dog Park

Rampart Dog Park is an interesting, off-leash dog park that your canine can enjoy. It is a large fenced in area with mulch hills for your dog to play on. It also has built in obstacle courses that can be fun for your dog to try and keep your dog active and entertained. Rampart Dog Park is located right off Briargate on Lexington drive in Colorado Springs. This dog park also has benches for you to sit at once running around with your dog becomes too much. Rampart Park is also located right by so check that out for the fun activities you might be able to explore.

3. Palmer Park Dog Park

Palmer Park Dog Park is actually a converted baseball field and has two different levels to it. With an enclosed area and an open space, the park allows dogs to be off leash. In both areas, there are spaces for people to sit and be comfortable while their dogs play. The enclosed area does not have any shade, but the open area does provide some shade if needed. The open, off-leash area of Palmer Dog Park is one of the biggest in the county. It offers amazing views of Pikes Peak so make sure to check it out for those amazing views.

4. Cheyenne Meadows Dog Park

Cheyenne Meadows dog park is a very simple dog park that was created by the people of Colorado Springs. It is one of the more well-maintained dog parks and like many other dog parks it is fenced in and allows your animals to be off leash. It is a fun and simple place for you and your furry friend to run around and meet other dogs and dog owners. If you and your furry companion are feeling up to it, Bear Creek Dog Park is about a 17 minute drive that would be a lot of fun to check out!

5. Garden of the Gods

Garden of the Gods is not only a great place to take your canine buddy on a walk or hike, but it is also a great place to let your furry friend play around with other dogs. There is an open space area where your dog can be off-leash and roaming the land. It is connected to some of the most beautiful trails Garden of the Gods has to offer, so when your dog is done playing around, it may be time to take them on a hike through the beauty that Garden of the Gods has to offer.

6. Red Rock Canyon

Red Rock Canyon has some amazing hiking trails, but it also offers an amazing dog park experience. It has an upper dog area and a lower dog area so your four-legged friend can run around off leash. The area is not fenced in so make sure to keep an eye on your dog, so you don’t lose them in the beautiful scenery Red Rock Canyon has to offer. It offers amazing views of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak, sights you don’t want to miss out on. It is located right in between Colorado Springs and Manitou, so check it out and maybe your dog can make some neat friends in this area as well as get a chance to run around on their crazy hike.
