WELLNESS EXAMS

Ponderosa Veterinary Clinic offers wellness exams and preventative care for dogs and cats where we can take an overall look at your pet’s health and identify anything of concern. Your pet’s routine wellness exam is important to maintain their overall health and happiness. As a veterinary clinic in Colorado Springs, we highly recommend regular wellness exams for your companion, just as you would go into the doctor or the dentist for a check up. Even if your pet is in good health, wellness examinations act as a means of prevention, where we can identify any problems or issues before they become serious. This is also a time where you can ask our vets any questions that you may have about your pet’s overall health, behavior, weight, lifestyle or the like. Wellness exams are one of the best ways to keep your pet happy and healthy for years to come! Learn more about what an exam consists of, what we offer and how to make an appointment with Ponderosa.

what is preventative pet care?

Wellness exams and preventative care go hand in hand, and allows us a chance to better understand your pet’s current health and give them the best chance at a long, healthy and happy life. Routine wellness exams work to make sure your pet is healthy and happy as well as give you a chance to ask questions about the health of your pet. It also gives us an opportunity to detect any signs of problems so that we can catch them and prevent health issues before they turn into a larger issue down the road. The earlier any health issues are spotted, the better it is to treat them as soon as possible. Wellness exams will also vary depending on the breed, age and lifestyle of your pet. That being said, we offer a preventative health care plan for all stages of your pet’s life to promote excellent lifelong health.

PUPPIES & KITTENS

Puppies & Kittens

There’s nothing more joyful than a young puppy or kitten exploring life for the first time! If you just got a new pet, we recommend bringing them in for a wellness exam to make sure they have a healthy start in life. We’ll talk about how to care for your puppy/kitten in terms of proper nutrition, activity and appropriate immunizations. We’ll do a health examination and come up with a plan that will keep your new best friend happy and healthy.

DOGS & CATS

Dogs & Cats

At Ponderosa Veterinary Clinic in Colorado Springs, we recommend scheduling an annual wellness exam for your furry friend! This is the time where we go over the current status of the health of your pet, inspect for any irregularities and answer any questions that you may have about your pet's health, behavior, weight, lifestyle, and more. If your dog’s behavior has suddenly changed, or perhaps your cat has something on his or her belly, please bring them in to see one of our experts. This is a great time to make sure your pet is healthy.

SENIOR PET CARE

Senior Pet Care

As your pet ages, their health needs change and progress more rapidly than in a younger animal, which might require more regular examinations. For preventative care for senior pets, we will look at areas including heart and lung health, muscle and joint weakness or sensitivities, oral health and more to give you a complete picture of their health. Together, we can come up with a proactive plan for your loved one.
