Questions Our Pet Parents Have About Their New Dog
First, our techs will ask you a few questions to get an understanding of your pet. Then one of our compassionate vets will examine your cat or dog and gauge their overall health.
We’ll look for signs of pain, tenderness, swelling, and other issues. When we’re done, we’ll have a great idea of your pet’s health and can help you make smart care decisions going forward.
Spaying your female pet involves removing the ovaries and the uterus. Typically, a spay is completed around 4 to 6 months before your pet’s first heat cycle, although some choose to do it after the first heat. Our veterinary hospital prides itself on providing humane and effective pet services, including neutering between 6 to 9 months, because it’s the best time for your fur baby.
It’s a top priority in your dog’s senior years to continue scheduling vaccinations and wellness exams. Some vaccines only last for a few years before becoming ineffective, like distemper — which is why it’s important to update your shots to keep your pet safe regularly.
At Ponderosa Veterinary Clinic, we’re here to support your dog through their vaccines, in all their years.
Vaccinations should start early because puppies have weaker immune systems. Pet vaccines help protect them from serious diseases and build lasting immunity.
Your pet means the world to you, and you do everything you can to keep them safe and healthy. However, medical mishaps can happen at any time. Like humans, it’s a good idea for pets to have insurance just in case. At Ponderosa Veterinary Clinic, we aim to educate pet parents like you about pet insurance to help you choose the best care for your furry friend.
We can treat your pet if they have a serious reaction after pet vaccinations. We serve all of El Paso County and provide vaccinations for dogs, cats, and other furry friends. If they experience any adverse problems, call us ASAP, and we’ll figure out what’s going on.
